To save time registering, please know that you’ll need a few things before you click the button.
- a photo ID that can be uploaded during registration – keep reading….
- a unique email address – meaning that it cannot be an address someone else has used to register, and
- if you don’t live or work within the SORO boundaries you’ll need the address for the organization within SORO with which you have substantial participation – I’ll get to that below.
Begin by getting out a photo ID – it can be a driver’s license or school ID or health club membership or passport, etc. It must have your name and photo and be current. If you have a scanner, scan it. Otherwise, take a picture of it with a smartphone or other digital camera, synch or email the picture to your computer so it is readily available to upload at the registration site. UPDATE – PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CITY WILL ACCEPT AN IMAGE OF YOUR COSTCO MEMBERSHIP CARD (OR SIMILAR).
Then click the Register Online button just below, which will take you to the city’s registration site. Fill out the form. You’ll need to state what makes you a SORO stakeholder: if you don’t live or work in SORO, you can still be a stakeholder of you attend classes or religious services, or participate with an organization that is in SORO.
If you don’t live or work within SORO you’ll need to provide the name and address of an organization that you are involved with. For instance (there are many organization within SORO – I am just mentioning a few Jewish organizations here, since I have been campaigning in the Jewish community):

- Bais Bezalel is at 8850 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035
- Happy Minyan is at 9218 W Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90035
- Aish Los Angeles is at 1417 S Doheny Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90035
- Bais Chaya Mushka and Yaldei Yisroel are at 9051 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035
- Harkham Hillel is at 9120 W Olympic Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90212
- Beth Jacob is at 9030 W Olympic Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211
- Young Israel of Century City is at 9317 W Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90035
- and of course there are many others, so your may not be listed here…
ANOTHER UPDATE – due to a bug in the system some people get a pop-up error message stating that their address is not within the SORO boundaries, even when it is. Just close the error message box and click submit again – it should go through the second time.
